„Der Stab, der Geiger und die Höhlenforscher“ (The Pole, the Violin Player and the Speleologists) tells the story of the violin playing shepherd Toni Burger, who uses the fantastic acoustics of the cave for his music, on the one hand side; and on the other of the mysterious discovery of a wooden pole, decorated with fine carvings which sticks out of the ice. The link between the two is represented by the speleologists who bring Toni into the cave and the pole out of the cave. This film reports not only of the discovery and its scientific and cultural handling, but also gives insight into the way of life on an alpine pasture – between modern life and traditions.
