This film follows the European free-ride elite on their journey to Austria’s best powder snow areas. In St. Anton am Arlberg we learn about the development of free riding. In Damüls the focus is based on snow. On the Kitzsteinhorn glacier innovative security systems are presented, and in Fieberbrunn the film concentrates on „free riding as a competition“. Scientists try to describe and to explain the emotional experiences of the riders, such as the feeling of “hovering over powder snow”. Last but not least, the renowned avalanche explorers Rudi Mair and Patrick Nairz give an insight into their work and explain how to discover the most frequent signs of danger in the free skiing space.
