Description
A group of experienced mountaineers is accompanied by a film camera on their journey to the fifth hightest mountain on earth. Compared to the challenge of ascending Mount Everest, the Makalu (8,462 m) offers a success rate of only 50% and a death rate of 12%. Therefore it is evident that here the difficulty and the risks are much greater. The world-famous high-altitude alpinist Guy Cotter from New Zealand leads a group who not only documents its alpine skills but gives also insight into the science and the physiology of extreme adventures.
