Description
31 years ago the first Styrian ascent of an eight-thousand metres peak was accomplished in the Karakorum. Hanns Schell and Robert Schauer from Graz, as well as Herbert Zefferer from Schladming reached the 8,064 m high Hidden Peak also called Gasherbrum I. This was the third ascent in history and a fundamental step introducing a period of successful Styrian expeditions on the “roof of the world”. Camera man Robert Schauer completely documented the 1975 expedition right up to the summit. This year, the film material was prepared for the first public screening by director Gernot Lercher resulting in an interesting historic document.
