Description
Klem Loskot returns to a remote valley in the National Park Hohe Tauern, Austria, in order to climb the boulder “Libre”. Wide open and calm pictures taken from the perspective of a flying bird turn the landscape into one of the main actors. Short and sharply cut pictures which show the preparations of the climber are intensified by a selective depth of field, extreme cuts and perspectives. One can feel the complete dedication to the boulder thanks to the insistent pictures, and this allows the public to participate in the climb.

Lobende Erwähnung 2006

Small mountain – big film. A highly reductionist cinematographic art form whose audio-visual language unites man, boulder and landscape.
