Description
On the 21st of Mai 2009, Reini Sampl climbed the highest summit of northern Tyrol, the Wildspitze (3768 m). This is a particular achievement, because since a skiing accident in 1996, Reini is in a wheelchair. However, terms like “self-pity” or “resignation” are not used in his vocabulary. Five friends pull him to the summit, from where he skis down autonomously to the valley on a special mono-ski construction. The exhausting way up, the arrival on the highest summit of Tyrol, and the steep descent to the valley push him and his helpers to their physical and psychological limits. This is the price to pay for a dream to come true.
