Since the time when the Lumière brothers fascinated the world with their first cameras, filmmakers intend to present pictures of the world in the most realistic possible way to the spectators. The Austrian director and camera man Michael Schlamberger has developed a camera which can capture a 360° panorama picture in real time. In the Visitor Centre of the Hohe Tauern National Park, one can “fly” from the inside of a crevasse up to the summits, between the tops of the trees, without having to channel the view through a small frame. Michael Schlamberger will talk about the development of this camera on the Festival’s stage, and he will show which challenges had to be mastered when shooting this first film.
