The Antarctic is a land of extremes. On a huge ice sheet there rule absolute loneliness and an unpredictable climate with record temperatures below zero. Three men will defy the hostility. The German photographer and author Michael Martin, the Austrian geographer and mountain guide Christoph Höbenreich and the Italian alpinist Mario Trimeri intend to cross the Drygalski Mountains in the East Arctic Queen Maud Land on skis, pulling heavy pulks behind them. But already at their arrival the weather frustrates their expedition plans. An adventurous journey across the magic ice wilderness of an unknown Antarctic lies ahead of them.
