One of the most varied living spaces on earth and at the same time holiday destination of millions of people is the Mediterranean Sea. Everyone think they know it, however, its fauna and the traces left by humans still contain mysteries. Between Italy and Greece, the film team is looking for species endangered by extinction. On Zakynthos they succeed in watching hawksbill turtles laying their eggs; however, the team is well aware that mass tourism keeps on destroying the living space of this species. It is not easy at all to spot the pot whales, the hugest predators on earth, in the oriental Mediterranean Sea, where only 200 animals have managed to survive. Luckily the team is able to shoot truly spectacular pictures of the rarest mammal of this sea, the monk seal.
