Uganda unites the entire magic of Eastern Africa. On the western border of Uganda, the snow-covered, over 5,000 metres high Ruwenzori mountains rise up into the sky, and almost half of the second largest fresh water lake on earth, Lake Victoria, is also located in Uganda. In the north west of this lake originates the upper course of the Nile, the longest river on earth. Savannahs, papyrus-swamps, bushlands and rain forests offer a rich habitat for unique faunal and floral specialists.
