At the beginning of May 1978, the first Austrians reached the summit of Mount Everest. A few days later, Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler climbed the summit for the first time without using oxygen bottles. This was a milestone in alpine history many sceptics until then had believed to be impossible. 40 years later, the participants of the 78-expedition set off to Nepal to relive their adventure.
