In addition to various protagonists such as Alexander Huber und Michael Pause, this film shows the development of the German Alpine Club DAV in the framework of alpinism, nature protection and tourism; and how this club became the biggest mountaineering and nature protecting association. A documentary journey into the ideas of mountaineering, pointed out by the example of the Alpine Club Section of Regensburg. This section was founded in 1870, one year after the German Alpine Club, and reflects its history and development showing some exemplary benchmarks.
