What would a forest be without squirrels? Everybody loves those lively dwellers of our parks and forests, the squirrels, or, more precisely, the European red squirrels. They build their drays in branch forks or in hollow trunks, in safety, to some extent. However, only a few of the offspring survive the first winter, with the danger of cold and lack of nourishment. But now, the danger comes from the own cousins. At the end of the 19th century, the American grey squirrels have settled in Great Britain and now they seem to displace their European relatives.
