The species-rich wildflower meadow is an unbelievingly multifaceted cosmos, directly at our door step. However, no other living space hides so many secrets. Why are there still so many animals living in the meadows, although every now and then a mower cuts down everything which is growing and blossoming. Can a meadow simply grow and be left alone? How were those wildflower meadows born? Where did all those animals and plants live, before men and agriculture appeared?
