- Description
- In an old German folk song it is sung, that the little chamois, no matter whether they are black or brown, are so cute. However, forest wardens and wood owners don’t agree. Those animals love to eat the tips of young fir trees, and often those trees are stunted in their growth. This is a serious problem for the protection forests which should secure villages from avalanches. Therefore the state forest wardens and the forest owners ask for more hunting rights. But this is not easy, because the chamois are not only shy but also quite smart. So the hunters often return from the high hunting grounds with an empty back-pack. Animal protectors and nature lovers are happy. They fear that a higher shooting rate would endanger the chamois, they plead for a different forest management.
