Description
The highest mountains between the Alps and the Caucasus are in the High Tatra. They separate Slovakia and Poland in the north. If it is called the “smallest high mountain range”, this is due to its expanse: 26 km long and only up to 17 km wide, but with 25 peaks higher than 2,500 metres. Elite climbers of both countries have developed their skills on the harsh faces of these mountains.
