The small village Krasnoschtschelje on the Russian peninsula Kola, north of the Arctic Circle, is inhabited by the Sami who earn their living with breeding reindeer. However, due to an extensive exploitation of resources in the Tundra, their livelihood is more and more endangered. A young Sami woman, who has been elected into the recently founded parliament of Murmansk, is not willing to accept this, and with all her passion, she fights against the mighty interests of politic and economy. This documentary shows the impressive natural beauty of this region and wins one over by the particularly sensitive portraits of the villagers.
