South-Tyrol has become a synonym for development and innovation as no other region in the Alpine space. The valley between the Brenner and Bolzano has always been a transit area. It is flanked by numerous castles and hosts small cities with a fascinating atmosphere. High above the valley there is the mountain hut Latzfonser Kreuz, from where one can enjoy a marvellous view over to the Dolomites. This documentary accompanies the host family during one working season. The daughter Tamara Lunger is a mountaineer, and that summer she undertakes an expedition to the K2. As well one can watch the new construction of an extraordinary architectonic hut, the construction site of the Brenner base tunnel and visit the personal physician of the glacier mummy Ötzi.
