The upper course of the Isar runs in a wide bed between the steep mountains of the Karwendel. Here, a unique river landscape has survived. Its aspect gives us an idea, how all alpine rivers must have looked like after the Ice Age. This extensive documentary shows the many different and partly already rare living spaces of the first 60 km of this river, and explains why it is considered to be the last big wild river of Germany. No other waters have such a dynamic. A true nature jewel, which unfortunately is heavily endangered.
