On their search for untouched mountain bike terrains, the vertrider Axel Kreuter and Sylvia Leimgruber from Innsbruck dare even to travel into the deepest Africa. In the south of Malawi, on the Mount Mulanje, they find what they have been looking for: a majestic mountain with breath-taking trails. They ride on the raw plateau and climb the 3,000m high Chambe Peak, in order to race down with their bicycles, across steep rock slabs and technically challenging ground. This is a ride which can be rarely experienced in a mountain biker’s life. However, the two of them also discover another aspect of the Mulanje Mountain. The endemic cedar is illegally cut down in worrying dimensions. The tree is already listed as seriously at risk and its fate seems to be sealed, except when authorities react. “Cedarwoodtrails“ is a bike adventure and an investigative sport documentary.
