The smooth green side of the Alps, the Nockberg Mountains, are clearly marked by the interaction of a unique nature and hundreds of years of human agriculture. Rural traditions, which are crucial for the maintenance of the landscape, and the knowledge of an attentive handling of nature, have been passed from generation to generation. This includes the often effortful cattle’s drove to the Alpine pastures, the work of Alpine dairymen, the knowledge of the art of Alpine mowing, the construction of fences without using nails and the operating of a pristine kind of bathhouse.
