Since decades, some South American ecologists have a big dream. They would like to create an interrelated system of national parks, one of the last huge wilderness areas. However, the realisation of this vision would not be thinkable without an US-American couple of millionaires who have made the conservation of the remote wilderness in Patagonia their life’s mission. The expedition leads from subtropical jungles and endless steppe landscapes to icy mountain lakes, fjords and glaciers. Will the Ruta de los Parques contribute to protect this landscape in a sustainable way?
