Program
The world’s first urban national park is called “Rouge” and is located in the centre of the Canadian metropole Toronto. Although in its surroundings there live around five million people, it has a surface of approximately 16,000 hectare and is home of a stunning variety of fauna and flora in one of the richest biodiversity zones. The close neighbour ship to the big city also means danger for this protection area. One of the most urgent tasks in the future will be to minimize and to control negative influences.
