The school-house in Lanebach is one of the last ones of this type in the Alpine region. When, at the end of the 1980ies, finally electricity was installed up there, and a road was built, this mountain school had already been closed forever. Thanks to the initiative of some stout-hearted inhabitants of Uttenheim, the building has been protected against demolition or renovation. This documentary recalls a world which we only know from old tales or from a museum visit.
