Passed away, but not forgotten. In 2017, at the age of only 40 years, the «Swiss Machine» Ueli Steck, one of the world’s most famous climbers, fell to his death in the Himalayas. Three of his best friends set off again to the Everest region, where Ueli was killed. His family in the Emmental has to deal with his early death. Ueli Steck once said about himself: “I know, whoever is watching me, thinks: Steck is crazy”. He had climbed the highest north walls in the Alps in record times and without rope. What had driven him, to push the limits so hard?
