In 2018, the sailing boat «Maewan» arrives at the Polynesian island Makatea. A circle of corals rises around this dream landscape with a rich variety of fauna and flora, in between there are remains of exploited and abandoned phosphate mines. Directly on the coast the team discovered the incredibly impressive limestone cliffs, and together with the locals, developed a project to promote this area for an ecologically sustainable climbing tourism. Six months later, the project “Makatea Vertical Adventure“ becomes reality.
