The author and adventurer Sylvain Tesson accompanies four members of the Special Mountain Service of the French Army on their adventurous journey to the southern tip of America. Here in Patagonia, they would like to climb one of the “needles” of Fitz Roy and then glide down the mountain with their equipment. This type of mountaineering combined with paragliding is called Paralpinism. Although the extreme winds seem to make the expedition impossible, the men do not give up and want to end their adventure successfully.
