The Manu national park in Peru is a biological treasure trove. Jaguars, caimans, humming birds and macaws live there, - nowhere else in the world have more species of wild animals and plants been documented. But illegal gold washers invade the national park and pollute the rivers with mercury. Also unauthorized coca plantations pose a risk, which lead to further destruction of the rain forests. Paradise is threatened and mafia-like structures and corruption make it difficult for the authorities to take drastic measures. Is there a chance to preserve the most biodiverse area on earth?
