One hundred years ago, the first national park in the Alps has been founded in the Swiss Engadin, the so-called ‘garden of the river Inn’. Still today, it hosts the largest untouched wilderness in Switzerland. When in springtime the morning sun reflects in the blue green ‘eyes’ of the lake plateau in the Oberengadin, the regional torrents become slowly filled and mighty waterfalls break down on huge rock faces. Ibexes sprint across steep rock walls, gorgeous bearded vultures run their so-called “bone smithies” and every now and then, there appears also a lynx in this high region.
