Only a few kilometres away from the Atlantic coast in northern Spain, the 2600m high „Picos de Europa“ protrude steeply into the sky. Between 1.000 and 3.000 Iberian wolves are living here in small packs. This film shows impressively how the communication in the family works for hunting and breeding. If the parents are shot, the young become loners, therefore they will hardly have a chance to hunt for wild animals. Then, out of necessity they attack sheep or other farm animals. New solutions are being presented: through careful behaviour and measures, the number of killed farm animals in the north Spanish wolf areas has diminished to almost zero. This could be an incentive to welcome wolves again in other parts of Europe.
