Elisabeth Lackner, the legendary so-called „Floitenschlagstaude“, has been a poacher and a rebel in the Tyrolean Zillertal Valley. In the conservative farmer society of the 19th century, she fought for her right to hunt and for her independence. She even dared to penetrate into a métier, which for centuries has been reserved for men. Due to her relentless will to take care of her fosterlings and her passion for poaching, she gained a considerable popularity. Therefore, she often came into dangerous conflicts with forest inspectors and law. This film combines re-enacted scenes with documentary elements and tries to portray the atmosphere of the farmers’ life in the 19th century in all details. Experts, witnesses and insiders report about the life of “Staude”.
