In summer 1948, the South Tyrolean mountaineer, actor and director Luis Trenker travels to the Film Festival in Venice. In his luggage, he carries the alleged diaries of Eva Braun, which he intends to offer to the American Hollywood agent Paul Kohner, an old friend, to produce a film. At the same time, Leni Riefenstahl fights at the Munich court to prevent the publication of these diaries. The sensitive-explosive relationship between the two ambitious filmmakers has an impact on Trenker’s career, such as the rise and the fall of the National Socialists. This film doesn’t judge, it shows two passionate artists who try to achieve their big breakthrough, even at the cost that at times they have to work contrary to their conviction.
