The nature filmmaker couple Dereck and Beverly Joubert live in Botswana, where exist the biggest remaining wildlife elephant herds in Africa. The starting point of this film journey is an extraordinary discovery. The filmmakers find the skeletons and skulls of two big bull elephants, who obviously have died at the same time and at the same place. Even the massive tusks are still there. Thus, this could not be the work of poachers, who surely would never have left the ivory there. At the end of their journey, Dereck and Beverly have found it, the spirit of the Grey Giants – the essence of the elephants. Now they can retrace how the bull elephants have lived – and most probably died.
