Vladimir, a pugnacious, aging Russian marine biologist, unexpectedly finds himself as a hitchhiker aboard the boat of adventure photographers. So be it. However, he desperately needs to return to his scientific research station. His own boat had been destroyed by a volcanic eruption, however, his mission remains to be accomplished. He has to fight for the protection and appreciation of the Kuril Islands, before he is too old. The team sets off to one of the world’s remotest volcanic island chains.
