For the International Year of Caves and Karst, cavers from all over the world want to draw attention to facts, which most of the people are not aware of or even don’t know. The Kast areas on earth are valuable drinking water reservoirs and they provide living space for a quantity of organisms that do not exist anywhere else. Due to the massive exploitation of soils and rocks and to the progressing pollution, not only those unique cave systems are endangered, but also their great value they have for mankind.
