WoGü is a dream, an illusion, an unreachable myth. A legendary 8C route that stretches ten pitches through the heart of the spectacular Swiss Rätikon range WoGü is one of the hardest climbs in the world and features the narrowest holds so climbers need to commit heart and soul. WoGü is also a film that offers humorous and insightful perspectives on extreme big wall climbing from both sides of the camera. Every pitch of the ascent shares the daily experiences of larger-than-life characters Nina Caprez and Cédric Lachat elite climbers, long-time accomplices and expert dispensers of one-line zingers. We also follow the work of the dedicated camera crew, operating high up in the air. This dizzying and technical shoot introduces us to a team striving to capture the meaning of these climbing feats. From the approach to the final ascent, the film reveals the tensions, hopes, falls and cruxes and the simple joys of dangling high above the abyss. Deciphered and decrypted through the dedicated work of these elite climbers, WoGü is transformed from a mysterious hieroglyph carved in limestone into an open book. We invite everyone to join us on this adventure, novice and initiated alike.
