Andrzej Bargiel and J?drek Baranowski have big plans in Pakistan’s Karakoram: Hoping to be the first to conquer the 6178 m Yawash Sar II, they aim to complete their return from the peak on skis. But as becomes clear during the ascent, this mountain poses plenty of risks and challenges. Their next plan: to ascend and ski down one of Asia’s most beautiful mountains – the 6096 m Laila Peak. The Latin phrase “hic sunt leones” marked unexplored territory on early maps and is the name Andrzej chose for his project of climbing the highest mountains and descending on skis.
