Puria Ravahi, the son of an Iranian father and a German mother, was born in Tehran,Iran in 1975. The Islamic revolution forced his family to flee the country in 1980. It was to be 36 years before he returned. Thomas Buttchereit, a good friend of Puria, talked him into starting a project to explore Iran and his roots with two trips. (2016 and 2022) JOURNEY ONE / 2016 The first trip to the north of Iran took place in spring 2016. The destination was Puria's hometown of Tehran and the apartment from which the family fled in 1980. Thomas, Puria and Andi also wanted to climb Mount Damavand, with an elevation of 5671 meters, on skis. JOURNEY TWO / 2022 Six years later. This time, their destination is the Zagros Mountains – a completely unknown mountain region with many peaks over 4000 meters, ideal for winter ski tours. After the Zagros Mountains, their journey will take them to Shiraz, the home town of Puria´s father, so that Puria can visit him there.
