Years after the devastating nuclear accident in Chernobyl, the exclusion zone around the power plant and the Ukrainian city of Prypyat turned into a tourist attraction. But even outside the guided “tours”, people entered the area – illegally and for a wide range of reasons. The tour guides were naturally critical of these “stalkers”. In this ghostly landscape, where the forest and its animals are reclaiming the city, people have become the exception once again. This film was made before the war in Ukraine began.
