Massive Trad Attack combines the two worlds of alpinism and sport climbing. In this exciting documentary, sports climber Martin Feistl demonstrates the lengthy process of climbing a route that is actually protected with bolts graded 8a+/b using only mobile and partly unconventional gear. An essential role in this understanding of alpinism is played by difficult trad ascents without the use of firmly anchored gear such as bolts. The film accompanies Martin in his German home region of Konstein on the “Massive Attack” route – his most difficult and technically demanding trad ascent there to date.
