Mikhail Fomin already accompanied his father on climbing tours in the Crimean Mountains at the age of five. Having gained further alpine experience in the Caucasus, the Pamir and Tien Shan mountains, and later in the Himalayas and the Karakorum, his expeditions received international attention from 2011 onwards. His most recent expedition in November 2021 took him to the south-east ridge of Annapurna III (7555 m). When the war began, Mikhail Fomin had to leave Ukraine with his family. He is now involved in a private initiative of Ukrainian mountaineers that collects donations for protective materials. In his multimedia talk, the proceeds of which go to this initiative, Mikhail talks about the development of Ukrainian alpinism and his own expeditions. https://climbarmy.org/
